10 WAYS TO CHEER UP

It is difficult to have morale after a breakup, because of family problems or overwork at work. When you have morale in your socks, you start to live in the negative and you see that. The least attracts the least. In these moments, it is important to refocus and think a little about yourself. You have to question yourself and ask yourself what happened before you got there. Here are some tips that can help you regain morale and the joy of living.

1. TAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF

In these periods when morale is low, the most important thing is to think of yourself even if you want to be selfish. Go shopping, treat yourself to a massage, go to the hairdresser, make yourself masks, go to the beautician … To get well in your head, you have to feel good in your body and regain self-confidence (here is my article where I give you several advices to have self-confidence ). Often we lose that confidence, following a breakup or a failure. You can devalue yourself and call yourself void after losing the person you loved while the wrongs can be shared or the other person simply did not love you anymore. Thereforetake time to make yourself look good and feel good about yourself .

2. EAT BETTER

When our morale is low, the appetite is not too much there and often in these periods, we do not have a good diet. However, food greatly influences our morale . Certain foods promote the secretion of the happiness hormone serotonin . And the higher this secretion, the higher your morale will be. For this, consume foods rich in tryptophan . Tryptophan, is an amino acid that will help make serotonin. And to promote the entry of tryptophan into our body, we must also consume foods containing carbohydrates.

Foods rich in tryptophan:

  • wholegrain rice
  • legumes: soybeans, beans, lentils, peas
  • broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts
  • eggs, dairy, meat, oily fish
  • banana
  • dark chocolate
  • nuts, almonds
  • yeast

Carbohydrate-containing foods:

  • honey
  • dried fruit
  • legumes
  • rice, pasta
  • potatoes
  • the corn
  • the cereals
  • the bread

3. REST

Our condition is often linked to our fatigue and lack of sleep. So take your time to take naps and favor of good sleep to be restorative . After a week already, where you have had a good night, you will already feel much better.

4. LISTEN TO MUSIC

If you like music, it can really help you get your spirits up. Take your best playlist that gives you the fishing and listen to it over and over! Listen to the music that makes you smile , the music that reminds you of good memories, that makes you want to sing and dance. It will allow you to think of something else and your morale will already be better.

5. PLAY SPORT

Staying cloistered at home eating chips on the sofa is useless. If you like sports, go outside, go for a run, do a weight training or other sport. Precisely put all your sadness, anger and other emotions in your exercises. Sport will let you down and do a lot of good for your morale. And if you don’t like sports, just go out for a walk, it can make your mind clear .

6. PRACTICE YOUR PASSIONS

Doing things we love brings us pleasure . We forget during this moment that our morale is not in good shape. So if you love cinema, go to a movie, if you like playing video games, have a little session, etc. Do activities that give you pleasure and that can make you think of something else.

7. GO OUT AT HOME

As said a little above, it is useless to stay cloistered at home. If the weather is nice, take advantage of the sun to walk around . The sun helps regulate our internal clock and this has a positive effect on our mood. You can also visit your parents, have a drink with your friends, etc. It will change your mind and it’s always nice to see people we love.

8. TALK TO YOUR FRIENDS

When we are not well, often we are closed in on ourselves. However it is very important to externalize our unhappiness and to discuss with our parents, brothers and sisters, friends etc. On the one hand, it frees us up and then they can also give us advice and help us get better.

9. RIGOLER WITH FRIENDS

Laughing makes it possible to combat the decline in morale ! When we are at the bottom, we make heads and we look bad. Once we smile and laugh, it acts on our brain which will have more positive thoughts. During these times, surround yourself with positive people who can make you laugh and cheer you up.

10. KNOW HOW TO SAY NO

Sometimes we are surrounded by toxic people, who take advantage of our services and our kindness. It can also be people living in the negative, who complain all the time. All of this can affect our morale. So don’t hesitate to say no , tell these people that at the moment you are not available because you need time for yourself . As said above, sometimes you have to know how to be selfish and think about your personal well-being .

I asked on social networks, what cheered you up in bad times, here are the main answers:

  • talk to people
  • see and hang out with friends
  • take an aperitif
  • to go to the beach
  • go to concerts and festivals
  • get some fresh air and go to the beach
  • animals
  • punch a punching bag
  • travel
  • play sports
  • to eat chocolate

And you, what ways do you use to cheer up?
