30 days without fear: a plan to make you more carefree than ever

Fear is an emotion that is triggered whenever there is pain, harm or danger in one context or another.

In essence, emotion is aroused in cases where the imminent threat is a reality or even simply imagined. You are afraid that there is something to fear or, in some cases, when there is no real need to be afraid. But you are still scared.

Fear is a tool that serves to move you away from danger. It is an automatic survival mechanism in fact. Adrenaline is released into our blood, resulting in biological reactions.

The danger alert

Our reflexes and senses are exacerbated to help us escape a real physical danger. We reach the “fight or flight” mode. When you feel fear, your brain sends signals to the nervous system. The heart rate increases, blood pressure rises, breathing accelerates and stress hormones are released. The blood of the heart flows in anticipation of the action of the legs and arms.

So in fact, what happens is that the brain closes and gets ready for action. The capacity for reflection and reasoning diminishes. Some people even have the feeling that time is slowing down. They do not understand what is happening. These symptoms make it difficult to be logical and calm in these situations. The body’s response to stress or fear is itself stressful.

Fear is a precious help in a situation of real danger. But not when it comes to a perceived danger that will not cause any harm. Fear can be a real disadvantage.

Fear pulls you back if you do not need it. An example is stage fright when changing career. We end up making the wrong decisions because of the biological reactions of fear.

We must be firmly anchored to deal with situations calmly and logically and not be overexcited. The fact is that in 99% of cases, the experience is a nonphysical fear. Fear exists in our minds. We think we are in danger when in reality we are not.

Fear is common

Common fears are:

  • Speaking in public
  • Other people and foreigners
  • Authority and judgment
  • The failure
  • Change
  • Being humiliated
  • To get old
  • Loneliness
  • Disappointment

Each of us will inevitably end up in one of the points of the list above. Or in any case, you went there.

Even the most spectacular person on earth can not say that she is without fear. They train to act despite fear. Stop judging yourself if you are afraid. It’s as normal as having the flu.

Are you afraid of being rejected? Are you afraid of not being good enough and people realize that you are not smart enough, perfect or funny? Are you afraid of failure? And what about success? Are you afraid of success?

Fears live inside us and follow us like a shadow. The good news is that we have the power and the strength to practice resistance to go beyond any fear.

We must go beyond mental fear. We must analyze the root cause and overcome it.

Why plan to overcome fear?

The main reason is that fear limits your potential. The development person is to live the best life you can. Fear prevents progress and personal growth.

If you are rooted in the illusions of fear, you can not reach higher levels of consciousness such as acceptance, courage, love, peace, joy, etc.

The plan in 30 days to overcome fear

A study from the University of Cambridge has shown that one can overcome fear by being continually exposed to it. Whether it’s extreme sports, spiders, snakes or horror movies, our tolerance grows with more exposure. We learn that the fear we feel is not really harmful.

Make a list of your most significant fears. Do one thing a day that scares you and reward you for going beyond this challenge and going beyond fear.

Day 1

On the first day, write a note to muffle the words with negative contractions for the next thirty days. Write down all the usual phrases with words such as “will not get it” or “can not”. Switch the focus of your sentences and focus on the positive. Change the negative to positive For example, instead of saying “I do not want”, say “I would prefer”. Use this day to practice turning over all the negatives you will practice for the next thirty days. Start your “journal of fear”.

Day 2

Get up and put on running shoes or go to the gym. The goal here is to stop procrastinating. Start with sport as a daily ritual.

Day 3

Create an availability in your day to day. What would you do if you had an hour for you each day? Read, play sports, play with your kids. This personal hour must impact your life positively. Put priorities and give yourself time for yourself for an hour. You will be surprised how many things can be done in a day.

Day 4

Are you afraid to speak in public? Go on stage. Go to an event in your neighborhood, raise your hand, state your opinion and get on stage.

Day 5

Your birthday is coming and instead of celebrating this day, are you anxious to have one more candle? Are you afraid of getting old?

Do yourself a favor. Hire a makeup artist, get yourself dressed in an old person and play the role. Be old for a day. Observe the reactions around you. You will most likely lose the fear of getting old.

Day 6

Are you afraid of being bitten by bees? Contact the Beekeepers Association nearest you and spend the day with a beekeeper!

Day 7

Are you afraid of authority? It can be your director. Take a day to organize a meeting to let out your fear. If you are not ready to approach the person directly, you can also contact a trusted person or a professional. Talking to others relieves stress and gives you a whole new perspective.

Day 8

Stop the expectations. Examine your expectations of others and yourself. What would be the constraints on your relationships with others if you did not expect anything from them?

Our expectations are based on our experiences in life, culture, education and religion. Stop judgment and open your mind to new possibilities.

Day 9

Do you share some fears with others? What if you organize a group meeting and learn from others?

Day 10

Are you afraid of public spaces and judgments? Organize the day. Go to a local event and dance as if you were alone in your room with your mirror. Nobody looks at you.

Day 11

Go to an amusement park. Go get some chills in the roller coaster.

Day 12

Are you constantly afraid of your image and how do people perceive you? Stop spending your morning in front of your mirror. Spend the day outdoors in pajamas.

Day 13

Do you stay away from certain types of foods? Spend a full day eating foods you have never tried before.

Day 14

Go out into the world. Explore the unexplored. Plan a cultural tour of an existing ethnic tribe

Day 15

If you are afraid of losing people close to you, take the initiative to write letters expressing the gratitude you feel towards the people you love and your close family.

Day 16

If you are afraid of loneliness, spend a full day alone outside without a cell phone and without any interaction for a full day.

Day 17

Get in touch with the models you want to meet one day but never had the courage to approach.

Day 18

If you are afraid of getting lost, take a different route to get home. Explore and change direction.

Day 19

Launch a project on which you have procrastinated. Open the padlock of fear that has caused procrastination until now.

Day 20

Have you been in constant disagreement with a family member, friend or colleague, and have you cut ties for a while? Be flexible, take the initiative to set up a meeting to solve the problem and possibly reconcile.

Day 21

Do you have a work-related fear? We all have certain fears that come from our tasks. Which one are yours? Confront yourself with this fear and put it in perspective.

Day 22

Do you have social anxiety? Go outside and accept the invitation. Do not spend this moment in your corner. In fact, leave your smartphone at home that day or keep it in your bag.

Day 23

Have you been wondering for a long time why you sleep and feel tired or your appetite has kept you from eating all day? Make an appointment with your doctor and get a complete checkup.

Day 24

You may have wanted to crouch in a corner while waiting for the end of the world? Are you depressed or uncomfortable? Make an appointment with a therapist.

Day 25

Are you afraid of height? Challenge yourself to make the next climb. It can start by climbing up the tallest building in your area and looking down.

Day 26

Do you remember to ask someone special to accompany you on an outing? Go ahead and make an appointment.

Day 27

Plan a special trip. Visit. Do things that you have always wanted to do.

Day 28

Make a list of everything you want to accomplish and any mistakes you fear. Remember not to be afraid of perfection because you will never be perfect. Mistakes are lessons of life.

Day 29

Celebrate a love for life. Release the brakes and be free. Let yourself go. Release the evil. Release the fear. Stop the past pain entertaining. The energy used in clinging to past trials prevents innovation in a new life. Take this day to write down something in your journal that you have abandoned.

Day 30

Think about each challenge you have accomplished and start again. Follow the master plan and dispel all the fears gathered and all that will germinate.

Breathe. Meditate. Meditation and deep breathing regulate emotions.

To challenge your fears is to take the time to think about your soul. Each of us has fears limiting our progress in life. We can transform our resistance and our fear by highlighting them. Some fears are easy to let go, others may take time. By taking up the challenge of strengthening flexibility and countering fears, we are moving towards a new authentic life.
