Don’t fall in love if you’re young

Do not enter into a serious relationship when you are young. Don’t fall in love with the first and only person you kissed. Do not go out with this person for years. Do not invest your life in this person.

Do not start a serious relationship at the age of 16. Especially not at 16 years old. 16 years old is the delicate stage of life when things are confused and frustrating. 16 is so young, even if at the time, you feel so old. 16 is when you still have braces and shop at Abercrombie & Fitch.

16 is when you don’t listen to your mother’s advice, because what does she know about life? 16 years old is when you think it’s the end of the world because the boy we have a crush on prefers to text his best friend rather than us. 16 years old is when you clumsily stand at the edge of a birthday dance floor watching the pretty girl from the math class dance with the football team’s handsome kid that you can’t stand.

16 is when you argue with your father again, because you don’t realize he is doing the best. 16 years old is not the time to love someone else because at 16 years old, you don’t even love yourself. 16 years old sucks, that’s why 16 years old is not the time to have a serious relationship with someone other than yourself.

Do not enter into a serious relationship when you are young. Because when you enter a relationship when you are young, you learn to be someone else’s girlfriend, but not to be yourself.

You are not your own person when you grow up as a girlfriend; you have gone through the stages of the life of a young adult attached to another person, and for this reason, you become that other person, and before long, it becomes almost impossible to get rid of it. You identify yourself above all as a girlfriend and for this reason you forget that you are yourself first.

You learn to love others, but not to love yourself. When you are in a relationship, you put aside the problems you have with yourself.

We avoid loving ourselves because learning to love ourselves is a lot of work, especially when we are too busy loving someone else. When we are in a relationship, we expect the other person to love us enough for two.

Do not enter into a serious relationship when you are young – I cannot stress this enough. First learn to be yourself. Have an identity other than “girlfriend”. Be a writer, footballer or actor before wearing this girlfriend hat.

Learn to take care of yourself, make friends, be happy on your own, manage on your own without the support of another person. Most importantly, learn to love yourself as you are. Loving yourself can do a lot for you.

But if you had a relationship when you were young and it didn’t work, don’t regret the relationship. It was good, and it served you well. You know what love is, and a lot of people your age don’t know it.

But you may regret having loved someone else before loving yourself. Regret becoming addicted before learning to be independent. You have the right to regret it.
