How to have self-confidence, the 5 keys

Having confidence in yourself is not something innate, but it becomes easier with a few keys to apply on a daily basis.

Build on your strengths

We all have strengths and weaknesses. To be confident, it is important to be aware of your strengths and to build on them. You have to listen to your emotions, and determine what your talents are. As soon as you focus your attention on what is natural and simple for you, you will come to value yourself and gain esteem. Learn from your past experiences to move forward, and build on your strengths.

Adopt a positive attitude

Knowing how to get the most out of each situation is an asset when seeking self-confidence. Thus, adopting a positive attitude helps us see new opportunities and opportunities. It also allows us to know how to welcome the compliments of those around us, and to appreciate the constructive criticism for who they are. Do not hesitate to emphasize the positive by complimenting those around you or yourself. On the other hand, complaining leads us to adopt a position of a victim which does not help to develop self-confidence.

Give yourself the right to fail

Accepting failure allows us to love it for what it is: a lesson. It is impossible to succeed everything without encountering obstacles, challenges, and sometimes also failures. Overcoming the fear of failure leads us to multiply our attempts and to better understand the reasons which provoked these failures. While many see failure as a very negative thing, some manage to see it as a stepping stone, a challenge, and a goal. They manage to turn it into something positive. There is no shame in failing in our businesses, quite the contrary.

Set realistic goals

How to succeed if the set goals are unachievable? Often they are the cause of low self-esteem, demotivation, and failure. In companies, motivation stems from the possible achievement of objectives. It is the same for all of us. You have to embellish your daily life with challenges and small victories to gain confidence. Thus, it becomes easier to adopt a positive attitude in all situations, but also to stay focused on one’s strengths. To gain confidence, it is important to scale the difficulty, especially in the most stressful situations.

Surround yourself with positive people and be authentic

Negative or toxic people tend to permeate their surroundings. To increase self-confidence, it is sometimes necessary to distance yourself from them. Stimulating and positive people have the ability to pull us up, to value us, and to encourage us.

Furthermore, there is no point in trying to compare yourself with others, or to imitate them. Tracing our own evolution helps us to become aware of our strengths and gain confidence. Seeking to please at all costs rarely leads to acting according to our values, our opinions, and our principles.
