It’s official ! Men are only mature at the age of 43

Men do not reach maturity before the age of 43. Information published by the English website The Telegraph, this age is 11 years older than that where the majority of women mature. According to a study commissioned by Nickelodeon UK, male and female participants agreed that women reached maturity several years earlier than men at 32 years of age.

Maturity is very important in a relationship. It is the ability to make decisions for the good of the couple while leaving their personal desires and selfishness aside. It is knowing how to make compromises for the longevity of the relationship and the happiness of all. However, some immature behaviors from one or the other may break the union.

Child one day, child forever!

The study was commissioned by Nickelodeon UK to try to publicize the launch of their new TV show. This helped to understand how both sexes perceive emotional maturity in both sexes.

“As a man who works for a children’s channel, the question of whether men will never reach maturity is the one I’m used to,” said Tim Patterson, vice president, and director of programming. from Nickelodeon UK

Thirty percent of the women in the study reported having ended a marriage or relationship because of the lack of maturity of their male partner. Forty-six percent of women reported being involved or having been involved in relationships in which they felt they needed to be a mother for their male partner. A quarter of the women in the study said they made all the important decisions, not their male partners.

Eight out of ten women said that men were puerile in the way they play video games all the time, eat fast foods early in the morning, stay silent during arguments, wear comic clothes, race with lambda driver on the highway or are unable to cook even the simplest meals.

Tim Patterson adds in a statement that immaturity has its positive side because it allows the couple to have a little boring everyday life.

But what is an emotional maturity?

Emotional maturity is defined by the ability to control your emotions and take full responsibility for your life, with its opportunities and dramas. Being emotionally mature is largely based on the ability to handle anger, disappointment, guilt, resentment, fear, jealousy, disappointment, grief, insecurity and a myriad of other feelings. Emotional maturity is defined when you have the ability to experience those emotions and let them go quickly. Immature people seem to be stuck in these negative emotions, unable to overcome them.

People who are emotionally immature can be extremely difficult to manage because their ability to interpret and respond to life’s diverse challenges is often impaired. If you are married to someone who is emotionally immature, you will likely face great challenges in managing their mood and behavior.

Emotional maturity is an important skill to have in life. Emotionally immature individuals go through life by attributing their problems to people in their lives or in their situations and circumstances. They blame others for their anger, sadness, and depression, but they rarely look inside.

An emotionally mature person must:

  • Being able to listen to others even when they complain about her.
  • Be prepared to review all parties and change their minds if there are clear arguments for doing so.
  • Do not manipulate others to achieve one’s ends.
  • Be honest and sincere.
  • Seek to find compromises.
  • Wait until strong emotions (such as anger) subside before you can make an important decision.
  • Balancing your personal needs with altruistic motives.
