Please be my last love

Please be my last love, because I don’t want to spend the morning with someone else. No one else will appreciate my need to wake up at seven in the morning to read the news.

No one will make my coffee as good as you. No one will cook my eggs as well: boiled, not hard. Anyone except you would turn over in bed and encourage me to take my horrible morning breath.

Please be my last love, because I don’t want to spend my afternoons with someone else. No one else will understand my busy schedule. No one else will understand my need to let birds and squirrels speak to me.

No one else will want to explain to me in detail how their day was, as if I was reading a fiction. Anyone, except you, would say “I’ll see you when I see you” and make sure to fill their stomachs before mine.

Please be my last love, because I don’t want to spend the night with someone else. No one else will meet my need to sleep with a soft toy. No one else will accept my body as it is, with all its scars and black marks.

No one else will appreciate me getting up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. No one else will take care of my skin as gently as you. No one else will make me a bed on the floor because I prefer the cold, dense wood on my bones. Anyone, except you, would tell me to go home if I sleep better there.

Please be my last love, because I don’t want to go out with anyone else. No one else will understand my need for craft coffee and donuts. No one else will appreciate my desire to dance in public to avoid my anxiety. Anyone, except you, will be absolutely careful when approaching me.

No one will love you like me. Nobody will make you fat with your favorite sweets and then make you lose weight in the evening as I do. No one will accept your past or your problems as I do. No one will greet your family everyday without ever meeting them. No one will be intrigued by your little obsessions. Anyone, except me, would go away in a heartbeat, but my heartbeat would be forgotten at your sight.

No one’s hand will go as well as yours. No one makes me more intimidated. No one looks at me like you.

Please be my last love, because I can’t take another one anymore.
